Hood River, OR
My name is Christina McKeown and I am an artist based in Hood River, Oregon. I aspire to create art that inspires my community to protect the special places I love so much like the Cascade Mountains, the Columbia Gorge, and the Owyhee River.
All of my artwork is created from experiences-whether that is a connection I have to a place through personal adventures or through that of a family member; my goal is to share my love of these places with you all.
As an artist of Oregon, I am very grateful to have the chance to experience the wilderness through many different sports-whitewater kayaking, backpacking, kiteboarding, telemark skiing, and even multi-day raft trips. Each of these activities is my way to connect with nature and have a stronger connection to my world. Of course, I can’t help but be inspired when I’m playing so I’ve always got my art supplies safely tucked away in a dry bag... just in case I get the itch to paint.
If you happen to find me painting on a hiking trail or balancing on a river rock; give a wave or a smile. Let’s all work to enjoy, protect, and respect our beautiful home-we only get one.
