carry everything and i will follow,
my hands after yours, to touch blood and dirt,
to carry water where it is needed
whether in tears or in canteens. we can wash
away the sickness in this world, the hurt
as well as the hate, and we can plant trees
along the new river, and with their leaves
we can heal the nations
